Students have been studying the Age of Discovery and have learned about the expeditions of various famous explorers. However, questions remain. Did exploration primarily only happen during that time? Were Europeans the only ones to explore? What forms of exploration are still occuring today?
To learn about learn about some of the advances in ocean navigation, Paul Fuhs came in to speak to the class about his work with the northern sea route. Students learned about this new area of exploration, and how the desire to find a better sea route between Europe and Asia, is not completely unlike the pursuit of some of the explorers during the Age of Discovery. Thanks to Paul for the great presentation! Comments are closed.
