Beginners - 2nd Grade Musical: The Little Prince Friday March 30th @4:30"What they are looking for could be found in one single rose or in a little water if they looked with their heart." MARK YOUR CALENDARS for Friday, March 30th @ 4:30 as Pacific Northern Academy's Beginners through 2nd Grade will present a musical version of Antoine De Saint-Exupery's The Little Prince! This will be my 8th show with our "littlest performers" and I am very proud of all the hard work they have put into their show. This will also be the first show where the Beginner class will stay on stage! (Fingers crossed) The Little Prince is a poetic tale, in which a pilot stranded in the desert meets a young prince visiting Earth from a tiny asteroid. The story is philosophical and includes social criticism of the adult world. The main theme of The Little Prince is the importance of looking beneath the surface to find the real truth and meaning of a thing. It is the fox who teaches the Prince to see with one's heart instead of just with one's eyes. Unfortunately, most adults have difficulty doing this. "Please tame me! " Before reaching Earth, the Little Prince stops at a variety of other planets and meets some interesting characters including a King and Queen, a Lamplighter, a sugar-rushed Tippler, a Businessman, and a Conceited Man. But back on his tiny planet, is his friend, the Rose! While on Earth, he meets a Geographer, a Fox, a Train Switchman, and...a SNAKE!!! COSTUME INFORMATION!!!
Costume parts are due Tuesday March 27th! I have a costume rack in the music room for all costumes. Here is some additional information about costumes. You may also find this information outside your students classroom. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me! Comments are closed.
