Olympics
2/15/2018
The Olympic Spirit has caught on here at Pacific Northern Academy. Each class has been given a team to follow and root for by Student Council and they've been eagerly checking out the standings every morning on the updated medal count board. Students are learning about all the different Winter Olympic Events in gym class and even trying their hand at some of them. Here's some pics of the kids competing in the first ever Scooter Luge race! No children were hurt in the making of these photos..... Some of the things we've been talking about in class are: what it takes to be an Olympic Athlete, what kind of work ethic and dedication is needed to achieve such greatness, the difference between all of the events, why it's important to show good sportsmanship, and which event we think we could win a medal in. Do you have what it takes to become an Olympic athlete? Olympic Spirit Week February 19th-21st
Monday - Dress in your favorite color of the Olympic Rings (blue, red, yellow, black, or green). Tuesday - Dress like an athlete from your favorite Winter Olympic Event. Wednesday - Represent the Country that your class is supporting! Students will be involved in a school-wide mini Olympics on Wednesday the 21st from 12-1pm. They will try their hand at snowshoeing, hockey, speed skating, and luge/bobsled. Come cheer them on! Comments are closed.
