The Iditarod is on! Dogs in Art!
3/5/2018
The Art Room was a checkpoint, specifically, SKWENTNA. Ms. Jaeger liked that, because she had flown there a number of times in high school. All throughout the school major checkpoints and land and water features were set up. It was great fun! You could hear the teams go by! What a race! In this photo we see Pablo PIcasso. I wonder what he thinks of all these dogs? I think he likes them! The First and Second Grades made wayang kulit puppets. They had been introduced to the techniques of Indonesian Shadow Puppets last year as a result of a classmate, Raditya, whose parents gave Ms. Jaeger some examples. The classes have loved making them ever since then. In this large painting, a Kindergarten student displays one of the many dog drawings and paintings the Kindergarten class created in the spirit of the Iditarod, the great race of Mercy, as it has been called.
