Dream Castles
5/13/2018
It was so fun to imagine a giant castle together... and then bring that castle to life. How do you build a life-size castle with five- and six- year olds? First, each student designed their dream castle. Then, as a class, we took the parts of each castle that we loved and made a blueprint for our class castle. After that, it was time to build. We all worked together to create secret rooms, a watch tower, a working drawbridge, moat, treasure room, fire-breathing dragons, a dungeon, and secret passageways. We adorned the castle with flags and Coats of Arms, which each student designed to show whose castle it is. I was so impressed with how hard our kindergartners worked during the build to create their amazing castle, even giving up some of their specials because they wanted to keep working. What an amazing thing for our students to see their dream castle design become a real castle, one that they built and enjoyed playing in and showing off all week. Comments are closed.
