Our Beluga Pod!

Welcome to Early Kindergarten! We have been having a fabulous time this week getting to know each other and learning and playing together! We have focused on learning each other’s names and building a sense of community in our classroom. We also enjoyed meeting two special people who come to our class twice each week to help us learn. Mrs. Andrea, our music teacher, came and shared some awesome new songs with us. The children especially enjoyed learning “A Tooty-ta”, and they could be heard singing it all day! Our art teacher, Mrs. Jaeger, came and shared the joy of painting with us! The children enjoyed painting and experimenting with acrylic paints Tuesday and watercolors on Thursday. We had lots of proud artists, and their artwork is hanging in our classroom. Our theme this week has been feelings – how everyone has them and how we can handle them. Together we have read several stories which have dealt with separation anxiety and other kinds of feelings which young children often experience. We have also talked about what we can do when we are feeling sad or angry or scared. We have focused on how our classroom is a safe place where we are trying to be kind and helpful to one another. We are having great fun learning and growing together!
