BLOG-mas: Day 4
Winter Break is upon us! This year is going by so fast! The week of school before our "long winters rest" is always full of energy and excitement.
Students are starting to get ready for a "new year" of performing! And the productions at PNA for the 2019 will not disappoint! Morning Announcements
I start my day, everyday with one on one instruction with a different student everyday! By doing the morning announcements get their own private speech class. Students learn to project their voices, use proper diction and expression and develop better articulation. After greeting the school for the day, students read anything from a poem to a joke or a "today in history." Then they let the school know about any special events of the day like a parent breakfast or field trip.
What to expect in the NEW YEAR!!!
Martin Luther King Jr. Assembly
Monday January 21st 8:30am Brown Bag Concert Series January 21st - 25th 11:30-12ish EVERYDAY!!! Spring Musicals/Family Style Dinner Thursday, February 28th 2019 It's a double feature of entertainment and community with a family style dinner held between the shows! Beginner- 2nd Grade will present The Curious Case of the Mixed-up Faerie Tales at 4:30pm. Remember the Little Old Woman who lived in a shoe? Well she loves to read stories! But one day the Gingerbread Man runs into her and messes up the pages of her Nursery Rhymes! And chaos ensues! All our favorite stories are mixes up! Buth the Fox and the Spider kind of like this new arrangement. Will the stories ever get back to the way they belong?! 3rd - 8th Grade will present TWILIGHT Fairy Tales at 6:00. "There is a fifth dimension, an enchanted forest, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Fairy Tales" Come see this Twilight Zone inspired story about Snow White, stuck in the "real world" and watching her friends do what they naturally do. Unfortunately in this world, her friends are meeting real world consequences! Will Snow White make it back to the Enchanted Forrest? Watch a Holiday Classic over break!
2nd Grade and 4/5 Grades have been studying The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky! Enjoy this version by Russia's Bolshoi Ballet!

BLOG-mas: Day 3 MLK Jr.PNA's Martin Luther King Jr Assembly is as ingrained in our school culture as our curriculum. Every year PNA students attend school to celebrate Dr. King. 4th through 8th Grade will be performing "Glory" by John Legend and Common. A song the students picked themselves. This song was featured in the movie Selma. Beginners through 3rd Grade are performing "The Colors of Earth" I always like to take this opportunity to teach a little sign language to the younger students for this performance. We are made of the colors of earth Each color is different, each color is true We are made of the colors of earth I love the colors that made you! The song is actually made up of actual ASL and movement. PNA's annual Martin Luther King Jr. Assembly will be held Monday, January 21st at 8:30am. Everyone is invited to attend! Bring a friend or a family that has been wanting to see what PNA is all about! Beginners - 8th Grade will be performing and will need to be in dress attire! See you there! Mark your CALENDARS!!!Dear Parents,
There is a change to our normal Spring Musical schedules: this year, BOTH the Beginner - 2nd Grade and 3rd - 8th Grade Musicals will be held on the same day, Thursday, February 28th. Beginners - 2nd Grade will be presenting "The Curious Case of the Mixed up Faerie Tales" at 4:30pm, and 3rd-8th Grade will be presenting "TWILIGHT Fairy Tales" at 6:00pm. There will be a family style dinner between the shows. More information about the dinner will be sent as we get closer to the performance date. If you know your student will not be able to perform in the shows due to existing commitments or travel schedules, PLEASE email Ms. Katie as soon as possible, as it will effect casting and staging for the production. We are also looking for a CONSTRUCTION SITE! Do you have a garage or space that could be used to "make the magic happen"? We would need the space:
PNA productions and performances have profound effects on students. Each show helps to build self-confidence, team work and create wonderful memories! Thanks for all you do to support the arts here at PNA! 4 Merry Music Days of BLOG-mas!!!
