We've had a bug blast!

It's been a few weeks wait, but our butterflies have today finally emerged! The children were delighted to see the chrysalides break open and very excited to see what the butterflies would look like and trying to distinguish their type. We now look forward to observing them feeding and then releasing them during next week. "Creepy Crawley" - has been our class call out for stop and listen for the last few weeks. We have certainly enjoyed studying all these different mini beasts. From finding and comparing lengths of worms on a rainy day, to catching beetles and spiders and checking their number of legs and body parts. This has certainly been a very exciting and interesting focus of study and the children have learnt a lot of knowledge and skills along the way. Creature crafting ...
